Find personal information in the text of a document, redact or replace it, and add anything else you don't want to share — names, addresses, case numbers. The new copy is searched again for every value you removed.

Not found automatically — add them yourself

Names, street addresses and company names have no reliable pattern, so they are not detected automatically — this tool does not use AI guessing. Type them into "Add something you don't want to share" and every occurrence is found: in the body, tables, headers, footers, footnotes, comments and tracked changes.

Redact, replace or mask

Redact — the text is deleted and [REDACTED] is put in its place
Label — replaced with a numbered placeholder such as [EMAIL_1]
Pseudonym — the same value gets the same placeholder in every file of the batch
Mask — only a short tail stays visible, such as **** 4242
Keep — left unchanged and listed as kept by you

Is the text really removed, or just covered?

Really removed. The characters are replaced in the file itself — nothing is drawn over the text. The new copy is then searched again for every value you chose to change.

Why wasn't a name found?

Names and addresses are not detected automatically. Add them under "Add something you don't want to share" and they are found everywhere in the document.

Which files can I redact?

Word .docx, plain text and CSV. PDF is not supported yet.

Is anything sent to an AI or a server?

No. Detection uses fixed, documented rules and runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
